Atlas Network will host a VIP Reception on Monday, September 8 at Carolands Chateau and a one-day forum on Tuesday, September 9 at the Marines Memorial Club and Hotel. See below for further details.

September 8: VIP Reception at Carolands Chateau

Atlas Network will host a reception at Carolands Chateau on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. John Fund, National Review Columnist and Fox News Political Analyst will speak to the theme of "Fighting for Freedom: 25 Years After the Fall of the Berlin Wall" in commemoriation of the upcoming 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall (November 9). This evening event will also include brief remarks by Atlas Network CEO Brad Lips and 2014 Templeton Leadership Fellow Garry Kasparov.

Tickets are available for Atlas Club Members (Atlas Network's $1,000 and above giving club) and with Gold and Platinum level sponsorship of the Tuesday, September 9 forum at the Marines Memorial Club and Hotel. Atlas Club Members are invited to bring one guest.

Transportation between the Carolands Chateau and the Marines' Memorial Club and Hotel will be provided. Complimentary valet parking will be provided at the event and please note that as a courtesy to its neighbors, Carolands Foundation requires guests to use complimentary valet parking. No cars should be parked outside the gates on either side of the building.

Guests are also asked to refrain from wearing narrow or spiked heels that may damage antique floors.

John Fund is a senior editor of The American Spectator and a former columnist for the Wall Street Journal. He is also Fox News Political Analyst and National Review Columnist. Mr. Fund began his career in journalism after a stint as a policy analyst in the California State Legislature. He worked for syndicated columnists Rowland Evans and Robert Novak as their investigative reporter before joining the Wall Street Journal, where he has been deputy editorial features editor and a member of the Editorial Board. September 9: One day forum on Building up a Movement

to Tear Down the Berlin Walls of Today at Marines Memorial Club and Hotel.

This event is co-sponsored with the Pacific Research Institute and The Independent Institute

The event will kick off at noon at the Marines' Memorial Club and Hotel with a luncheon featuring keynote speaker Garry Kasparov, followed by two sessions in the afternoon.This year we commemorate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and Garry will speak on the spirit that took down the Berlin Wall and how we get it back.

Garry Kasparov is the 2014 Atlas Templeton Leadership Fellow, and our keynote speaker at the Atlas Experience in San Francisco. Garry Kasparov first gained international fame as the youngest world chess champion in history in 1985 at the age of 22. After retiring from professional chess in 2005, he rapidly became a vital part of the Russian pro-democracy movement against the repressive regime of Vladimir Putin. He formed the United Civil Front, of which he is still the chairman, and co-led the Other Russia coalition that focused on uniting the Russian opposition to Putin under the banner of free and fair elections. He now does extensive traveling and writing to spread human rights worldwide.
